Delta Dental of New Mexico Launches Individual Dental Plan for New Mexico Residents

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., October 22, 2015 — Delta Dental of New Mexico (DDNM) has released an individual dental plan, available now, for New Mexico residents. DDNM, the state’s leader in dental benefits for employer groups, brings its extensive nationwide dentist network, dental benefits expertise, local presence, and fast and accurate claims processing to the individual dental market. Individual plan subscribers can cover their entire family without having to go through an employer or spouse’s plan. NM residents can enroll in an individual plan today at www.mysmilecoverage.com/nm or by calling (800) 971-4108.

“The dental insurance landscape in New Mexico is changing,” said Sara Limón, Chief Operating Officer at DDNM. “Consumers increasingly have more options for coverage, and it no longer has to be through an employer. Today, we’re leveraging our experience and position as New Mexico’s leading dental benefits provider to bring dental benefits to more New Mexicans who need dental coverage, or want better dental coverage. We’re truly excited to make this plan available.”

The Delta Dental Individual plan offered by DDNM has two plan options: Core and Enhanced. The Core plan provides a solid foundation of dental coverage at an affordable rate. The Enhanced plan provides more coverage than the Core plan, including Diagnostic and Preventive Services (such as cleanings and application of topical fluoride) covered at 100% when you see a Delta Dental PPO dentist.1 Both plans come with an annual maximum of $1,000 and no waiting periods for preventive care.2 Please visit www.mysmilecoverage.com/nm or call the Individual Product unit, (800) 971-4108, for more information about benefits.

DDNM features a nationwide dentist network with more than 146,000 dentists in the Delta Dental Premier® network and more than 94,000 dentists in the Delta Dental PPOSM network.3 In New Mexico, DDNM contracts with more than 90% of eligible dentists. That means enrollees can choose from a wide variety of dentists, in-state and across the rest of the U.S. Both plans allow enrollees to see out-of-network dentists, although doing so may result in higher out-of-pocket costs.1

Enrollees in the Core and Enhanced plans can take advantage of a fully featured online portal, www.individualaccountmanager.com, to access information on benefits, eligibility, claims, and more. Enrollees can also obtain customer service support via the Individual Product Unit at (800) 971-4108. Customer service representatives are available from 6am to 4pm MT, Monday-Friday. An automated phone system for benefits and more is also available 24/7 at the same phone number.

Individual plan subscribers must be New Mexico residents. Subscribers can pay monthly or annually with credit card or bank account withdrawal. Subscribers may pay by check, but they must pay for a whole year.
1) You have the option to choose any licensed dentist. Your out-of-pocket expenses will vary depending on the plan you select and your dentist’s network participation. For additional information, please call the Individual Product Unit toll-free at (800) 971-4108.
2) Most services require a waiting period before benefits can be used. Please call the Individual Product Unit toll-free at (800) 971-4108 for more information.
