When the COVID-19 pandemic caused dental offices to close, you answered your community’s call for help. Now, we’re helping you get the supplies you need to better serve your patients.

All licensed dentists practicing in New Mexico with active Type 1 NPI numbers are eligible to receive a $1,200 credit to Henry Schein to be used toward existing account balances or toward any future purchase of dental products and/or services from Henry Schein.1

For example: If you receive the credit and have an existing account balance of $600, you will have a $600 credit remaining for future purchases.

More than one dentist in a practice may receive the credit as long as each dentist is licensed and practicing in New Mexico and has an active Type 1 NPI number.

Dentists with existing Henry Schein accounts at the start of the program will have funds posted to their account in the form of a credit no later than June 26, 2020.
 
If you do not already have an account with Henry Schein, call 844-211-9547 or set up your account on the Henry Schein website. Once your account has been created and you have submitted the Delta Dental form, we will confirm your eligibility and provide notice to Henry Schein, who will then credit your account.

The program will begin for eligible dentists on June 5, 2020, and end December 31, 2020. Unless Delta Dental of New Mexico decides to extend the credit period, the credit will not be applied to any accounts after December 31, 2020.

All value, recipient criteria and direction of this credit offering is provided by Delta Dental of New Mexico.2

Issuance of credit by Henry Schein under the credit offering is contingent upon Henry Schein’s receipt of the necessary underlying funds from Delta Dental of New Mexico.

Is Delta Dental of New Mexico doing anything to help dentists through COVID-19?

Operation #EnchantedSmiles is a program providing $1,200 grants for New Mexico dentists to use to purchase dental products and/or services they may need as they start to see patients again. This program will be administered by Henry Schein. The funds will appear as a credit on such accounts to be used toward existing account balances and then toward any future purchase of any dental products and/or services from Henry Schein.

Who is eligible to receive one of these grants?

Operation #EnchantedSmiles grants are available to all licensed dentists practicing within the state of New Mexico who have active NPI numbers. Recipient criteria and direction of the program has been determined by Delta Dental of New Mexico.

Why Henry Schein?

We looked into many different options to lend aid to the dentists in our state as they have been tremendously impacted by the order to limit practice to emergency procedures only these last couple of months. Those options ranged from grants and loans to dentists to purchasing products and services to help resupply their offices. Ultimately, we decided our best program would be $1,200 grants to each dentist in the state, and so we have entered into an agreement with Henry Schein to help administer this program. This also gives the dentists more control over products ordered so they get what they need.

How will I receive this credit on my account?

Once eligibility is confirmed by Delta Dental of New Mexico and Henry Schein has confirmed that the eligible dentist has an account with Henry Schein, Delta Dental will transfer the funds to Henry Schein to be applied to your account. We have already validated New Mexico dentists for eligibility for this gift and those dentists with an account with Henry Schein will have the funds credited to their account, as soon as June 26. Those who do not have a Henry Schein account at the outset will receive funds on their accounts after they open an account with Henry Schein (so long as the account is opened by December 31, 2020). Upon confirmation that an eligible dentist has opened an account with Henry Schein, Delta Dental will transfer the funds to Henry Schein. Once received, Henry Schein will post the credit within 10 business days. The funds will appear as a credit on such accounts to be used towards existing account balances and then toward any future purchase of any dental products and/or services from Henry Schein.

What if I don’t have an account with Henry Schein?

For those who are not currently Henry Schein customers, you will simply need to apply for an account with Schein and complete a form that will be submitted to our Provider Relations department for validation. See links below for opening an account and accessing the Operation #EnchantedSmiles form. Completed forms can be emailed to providerrelations@deltadentalnm.com or faxed to 505-883-7444. Upon confirmation that an eligible dentist has opened a new account with Henry Schein, Delta Dental will transfer the funds within 5 business days to Henry Schein and once received, Henry Schein will post the credit within 10 business days thereafter.

What if I do not want to open an account with Henry Schein?

Operation #EnchantedSmiles is being administered exclusively through Henry Schein, Inc. Delta Dental of New Mexico will only apply the grant funding through this program. The company will not credit accounts through other vendors nor provide cash in lieu of a grant.

Can I donate this grant to a federally-qualified health center (FQHC) or charitably-run clinic in my community?

No, these grant funds are intended for commercial dental practices and cannot be forwarded to community health centers. Delta Dental of New Mexico supports charitably-run clinics across the state and it will be making an additional contribution this year as part of Operation #EnchantedSmiles. You may purchase supplies using the credit and then donate purchases as you wish.

Can I assign this grant to our practice account?

Yes, you can assign the $1,200 grant to your practice’s Henry Schein account. Check the assignment of grant acknowledgement on the Operation #EnchantedSmiles form, include your practice’s Henry Schein account number, and sign and submit the form via fax or email per the instructions on the form.

How long do I have to apply for this grant?

This program will begin June 5, 2020, and end on December 31, 2020. Unless Delta Dental of New Mexico decides to extend the grant program period, the credit will not be applied to any accounts created with Henry Schein after December 31, 2020.
